Let's Go Pogo - Ravenwood Pogo Stick

We know that you’ve been hopping all over the spiral with help from our Digmoore Pogo Stick guide! Although much more simpler than the Digmoore Pogo Stick, knowing what you need and how to craft the Ravenwood Pogo Stick can be extremely useful!

What’s needed?

Vendor: You can get this recipe from Rose Piper for 60,000 gold during the B.O.X.E.S. event. Although not in the game now, save up your gold for when the event returns!

15 Snow Shield

Recommended Method: Buying-This treasure card can be easily bought from the bazaar, or from Harold Argleston, Zan’ne, or The Archivist for only 150 gold.

Other Methods:

• Purchasing Packs - You have a chance at getting this card by purchasing the Eye of Bartelby Pack.
• Dropped - This card is dropped from multiple bosses and mobs around Wizard City!
• Gardening - This card can be a reward from Evil Snow Peas, Laugh-O-Dil, and Snow Apples.
• Crafting - Visit Kelvin the Ice Tree to buy this recipe for 150 gold. The recipe calls for 1 Sapphire, 2 Stone Block, and 2 Leather Straps.

5 Catfish

Recommended Method: Fishing-In fact, this ingredient can only be obtained by fishing! Although marked as a common fish, this fish can be a little difficult to get. Tips:

• This fish is seen in the Wizard City, Commons.
• Use the “Reveal Fish School” spell to locate fire school fish. Fire school fish are marked in a light orange with a faint flame symbol. When you see them, use your fire school lure and try to catch them!
• If you catch all of the fire fish, feel free to use the “Summon Fish” spell to repopulate the pond with just a click of your mouse. If you haven’t yet trained the “Summon Fish” spell, you’ll have to wait until the fish respawn on their own.

1 Sonic Spring:

Recommend Method: Farming - This reagent can only be obtained by farming! The Sonic Spring drops from bosses and mobs in each of the five B.O.X.E.S. That means that you’ll have to farm while the event is going on in order to obtain them!

• This reagent is considered a rare drop.

20 Trumpet Vine

Recommended Method: Buying - This seed is sold by both Harley (Celestia) and Narley (Zafaria) for 2,400 gold.

Other Methods:

• Gardening - This seed can be obtained as a reward from other plants including Pink Huckleberries, Red Huckleberries, and Silver Trumpet Vine. If you already have Trumpet Vine planted, you can also receive this seed as a reseed from existing Trumpet Vine.
• Farming - This seed is dropped from various enemies around the Spiral!

15 Sapphire

Recommended Method: Buying - This reagent can bought from the majority of reagent vendors around the Spiral.

Other Methods:

• Gardening - This reagent can come as a reward from three different seeds including Burning Snap Dragon, Ivy League, and Snap Dragon.
• Dropped - This reagent can be dropped from various enemies in the Midnight Sun Pagoda.
• Purchasing Packs - You have a chance at getting this reagent by purchasing Dragon’s Hoard Pack, Kirin’s Hoard Pack, Ninja’s Lore Pack, Shaman’s Lore Pack, and Skyvern’s Lore Pack.

25 Scrap Iron

Recommended Method: Buying: This reagent can be bought from the Bazaar.  I can’t guarantee that it won’t take you a good amount of time.

• Gardening - This reagent can be dropped as a reward from four different seeds including Burning Snap Dragon, Helephant Ears, Evil Magma Peas, and Venus Fly Trap.
• Harvesting - This reagent can be harvested in many worlds around the Spiral.  Mostly in Marleybone.
• Transmuting - You can purchase this reagent’s transmute from Felicia Worthington.  You would need 10 Stone Blocks and 10 Ore in order to transmute one Scrap Iron.
• Purchasing Packs - You have a chance at getting this reagent by purchasing Keeper’s Lore Pack, Knight’s Lore Pack, Ninja’s Lore Pack, Pharaoh’s Hoard Pack, Remarkable Reagents Pack, and Shaman’s Hoard Pack

25 Spring

Design-an-Accessory Contest!

Ahoy pirates! We're received some awesome prizes this month to give out, including new items that have just arrived in the game a few days ago! We've got some Crown codes too that you can spend on some of the other awesome additions to the Crown Shop or whatever else you'd like!

Pirates are known for showing off tons of different accessories. You might immediately think of eyepatches, but Pirate101 offers much more - plenty of new items were added to the game within the last few updates, and we can definitely expect to see much more coming soon. They allow you to give your pirate a personalized look, whether you choose facepaints, glasses, or the new Magic Friendship masks! Several bosses also drop visible accessories for you to wear, such as Bishop and Fin... plus they give extra abilities to help you out in combat!

For this contest, our question to you is: If you could think of one accessory that you would like to see added to the game, what would it be? Feel free to describe it, draw us a picture, or both - be creative! We want to know as much as possible about your idea, so include whatever you'd like - where it comes from, what it looks like, and if it grants anything special are good places to start. A picture isn't required to win, but it would help us visualize your idea better!

Be sure to also include the name of your pirate, or if you prefer, a community name that we can share when we announce the winners! Future Companions Part III: New Ideas!

There’s plenty of great companions out there – whether they’re Musketeers, Swashbucklers, Buccaneers, or any other class, you can always find the perfect companion that you need! In this post, we’ll be taking a look at some ideas for future companions that could be added to the game!

Not Your Average Companion

Bonnie Anne is an excellent sharpshooter, El Toro is great for dodging attacks, and not many enemies can withstand the SON OF ZEUS! (err… Hawkules…) Then there are some other companions who are different. This trend began with Nausica, who can be built specifically to counter certain types of units. In her case, this was Musketeers – with several tiers of Burst Fire and True Grit as well as her automatically trained Quick Adjust, she can easily charge an opposing ranged unit with Quick Draw and take them down immediately. Against other classes, like Buccaneers and Witchdoctors, however, Nausica won’t fare as well. This is because her specific set of epics isn’t meant to combat powerful non-ranged units, so you may want to leave her out in these types of fights.

Nausica isn’t the only companion like this. In fact, there are plenty of them – Hoodoo Cornelius is another great counter for Musketeers as well as Witchdoctors – units with low dodge won’t be able to stand up against his Going Bananas power! Like Nausica, however, this unique strength only comes when he’s facing units weak to him . . . any type of melee opponent can end Cornelius’ chain of attacks, and for the rest of the fight he won’t be as powerful.

There are lots more, too! The new Grizzly Beast companions stand out because they have epics no other companion can access. Sneaky Sneaky is extremely powerful against any type of enemy, Feeding Frenzy can heal you to max health when you’re on the edge of defeat, and Merciless can take out that pesky enemy who hangs on by just a little health.

New Ideas

Companions like these add a lot to the game – using “all around” companions usually works well, but choosing companions specifically to counter a tough boss is even better. In PvP, too, using a more specialized setup based on your playstyle can make the difference between victory and defeat. Here are some of our new companion ideas . . .

• A Buccaneer with Highland Charge. This would be especially helpful by allowing you to get some strong attacks in and retreat with bonus movement before they can hit you. It can also let you rush the enemy after buffing your units when they wouldn’t expect it. Perhaps we could see a Cat Thug Brute from Marleybone come with this power!

• A wizard! It would be difficult to use mechanics from Wizard101 in Pirate101, but there’s no need to cross both systems over. A wizard would work like a summoner – having a plethora of spells from Wizard101 to choose from (Helephant, Cyclops, Vampire, etc.) which would be summoned as minions. These minions would always stay relatively close to the wizard companion and would disappear if the wizard is defeated. Perhaps wizard companions could even have schools and that would control the types of allies they can summon! Besides, we need some companions to recruit if we ever go to Wizard City . . .
  
  
• A knight from Avalon. What would make this companion special is armor – as it currently stands, even companions that can reach up to almost 100 armor don’t stand out very much because it’s purely random how much it actually does. Suppose a companion has almost 200 armor, however, and about 70% of the incoming damage would be blocked – THAT makes quite the difference! The weakness this companion has would be against non-melee units where armor wouldn’t be factored in, but, in close-up combat, a heavily armored companion would be extremely helpful.

• In Wizard101, the Maestro attempted to change the Spiral’s past . . . but what if he wanted redemption after his defeat? Aside from storyline purposes, having a time traveling companion would actually be quite interesting. He would know what will happen before it does – that means he could potentially teleport away before he’s attacked. A talent called “Foreseeing Future” specific to this companion could provide a 10-20% chance (depending on tier, upgraded by 5% per promotion) to teleport away when he’s selected for an attack. His damage would likely be a bit weak to compensate for this, but it opens up plenty of possibilities!

Let's Go Pogo - Digmoore Pogo Stick

There are craftable mounts now!  You know what that means?  Farming, gardening, and collecting reagents.  There is a Digmoore Pogo Stick and Ravenwood Pogo Stick that can be crafted.  We’re going to show you the fastest way to get the materials to craft these mounts!  We are going to start with the harder mount to craft, the Digmoore Pogo Stick.  In the future, we will be posting how to craft the Ravenwood Pogo Stick!

How do I get the recipe?

Both recipes can be bought from Rose Piper in any of the B.O.X.E.S. dungeons for the B.O.X.E.S. Event.  You will only be able to buy these recipes for a limited time every time KingsIsle releases the B.O.X.E.S. Event. So buy them for 60,000 gold each when you can!

Now let us get into the tricky parts.  This is going to go relatively in order from hardest to acquire to the easiest.

10 Clockwork Spider

• This treasure card is very time consuming and difficult to get.  You can have some luck in the Bazaar but that would take you quite a while.  Other than sitting in the Bazaar and having little to no luck, you can farm Khrysalis bosses, garden, or use some crowns getting some packs.
• The best boss to farm for this treasure card is Razele the TwoFaced in Bastion, Khrysalis.
• Life boss and minions
• Gardening is an efficient way to get this treasure card, but if you don’t have a lot of Clockwork Flowers, it will take you some time.

• When the Nightmare Pack is available in the Crown Shop, you can get this treasure card from there.  Good luck!

1 Sonic Spring

• You have to be quick with this reagent as the only way to get it is in the B.O.X.E.S. dungeons so farm for them as soon as you can!  
• Any battle can drop it but it is considered a rare drop

10 Silver Trumpet Vine

• These seeds can be expensive or somewhat time consuming to get.
• If you do not want to waste your time and have crowns, feel free to buy them for 1,000 crowns in the crown shop.
• Another way you can get them with crowns is by buying the Hoard of the Hydra Pack, Kirin’s Hoard Pack, and/or Wyvern’s Hoard Pack… but you need luck for that.
• Gardening is probably the best way to go as you can plant some Trumpet Vines (selling at 2,400 gold by Harley).

• These can also be dropped by a bunch of bosses and mobs including Junglethorn in The Floating Land, Celestia.

10 Brain Sturgeon

• Catching 10 of these fish is pretty time consuming due to the fact that you can only get them from one tiny pond.  If you want this to be a bit quicker, I suggest to get as high enough level as you can in fishing and get all the necessary spells to make the fishing process quicker.
• If you have the “Summon Fish” spell: Check the school of the fish in your pond and if you find any lifes, catch them.  After that, use the Summon Fish spell and ignore all of the Balance fish you might see there.  This will reset your pond and you can check what schools the fish in your pond are again and continue that process until you are left with no energy.
• If you do not have the “Summon Fish” spell: Check the school of the fish in your pond and catch the life fish in that pond.  Get rid of the Balance fish in the pond by scaring them away.  You might have to wait about half an hour for the fish to spawn again.
• Note: Any Lifeacudas you catch in this expedition, I suggest you keep as they can be used to craft the Regular Keeper Aquarium if you are ever interested in decorating your fish around your castles or dorm.

25 Spring

• Like most other reagents, you can get this one from gardening, packs, the Bazaar, transmuting and, of course, running around finding them.
• You can receive this reagent from planting and taking care of Fickle Pickle, King Parsley, Pink Dandelion, and The Giving Tree.  Although this might be time consuming, it’s one of the most efficient and easiest ways.  
• If you are willing to spend your crowns on packs, you can get them from the Keeper’s Lore Pack, Knight’s Lore Pack, Ninja’s Lore Pack, and/or Shaman’s Lore Pack.  Best of luck!
• If you have the Scrap Iron and a Card Crafting Station, you can buy the transmute from Felicia Worthington.  15 Scrap Iron for one Spring.  That is 375 Scrap Iron in total.
• If you know the best places to find Scrap Iron laying around, feel free to take that route.  You have a rare chance of getting Spring from collecting Scrap Iron.

25 Scrap Iron

• Well I hope you didn’t use all your Scrap Iron for transmuting it to a Spring.  You can get these from collecting them, gardening, packs, the Bazaar, and transmuting.
• As I said before, you can find a route to find them laying around to collect which will also give you a chance to get some Spring along the way.  
• Yep, gardening again.  They can be found from Burning Snap Dragon, Helephant Ears, Evil Magma Peas, and Venus Fly Trap.  Again, efficient but time consuming.
• Can be found in several packs including the Keeper’s Lore Pack, Knight’s Lore Pack, Ninja’s Lore Pack, and more.
• If you have a lot of Stone Blocks and Ores saved up, you can use those to transmute.  Transmute can be bought from Felicia Worthington.  Transmute consists of 10 Stone Blocks and 10 Ores.

15 Bronze Gear

• If you can’t find these in the Bazaar, well… they are still not very hard to find.
• They can be found in many packs including Keeper’s Lore Pack, Knight’s Lore Pack, and Ninja’s Lore Pack.
• They can be found when gardening Orange Dandelions.
• They can be dropped by many different bosses and mobs.
• If you have Spider Silk, you can transmute 5 Spider Silk for one Bronze Gear.  Felicia Worthington also sells this transmute

10 Leather Straps

• These are also not very hard to find and can be easily found in the Bazaar but if you would like to find them other ways, you can receive them from several things.
• When gardening, the Trumpet Vine is the only one that you can receive it from.
• You can also receive them from the Keeper’s Lore Pack, Knight’s Lore Pack, Ninja’s Lore Pack, and a few more packs.
• They are dropped by several different mobs and bosses.
• You can get a transmute from Eudora Tangletree using 5 Bones for one pair of Leather Straps.

Best of luck as this is an expensive and time consuming mount to craft.  Make sure to get those Sonic Springs and buy the recipes before the B.O.X.E.S. Event is gone!  If you didn’t have a chance to get either one, it will be coming back in the future. Time to add a few more eggs to the AOS egg basket!

Zeke loves to task traveling wizards with finding his lost critters or items. But, did you know that each item/critter is named after a real band?!

Wizard City-The Smiths

In the Game: "The Smiths" are 10 little dwarf-like people that are scattered all over Wizard City!

The Band: "The Smiths" was a band that was formed in Manchester in 1982. The group's members included Andy Rourke, the bassist, Johnny Marr, the guitarist, Mike Joyce, the drummer, and Morrissey, the vocalist. Four of The Smiths's albums appeared on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time. In fact, The Smiths have went down in history as the most influential band since "The Beatles." The band broke up in 1987, but their legacy still lives on.

Krokotopia-The Beetles

In the Game: Prospector Zeke asks you to find 10 lost beetles throughout Krokotopia!

The Band: I think everyone knows this one! ;) The Beetles that Prospector Zeke asks you to find actually refers to the very popular band, "The Beatles!" The Beatles is a band that started in Liverpool in 1960. The group consisted of Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. The Beatles started out playing in tiny clubs in Liverpool and worked their way up. Their first hit song was, "Love me Do" and the group soon gained a cult following. The quartet was nicknamed "The Fab Four" and their following coined the term, "Beatlemania." The Beatles met international support and were the catalyst to the "British Invasion." The group broke up in 1970, and only two members, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, are still alive. The Beatles are considered the most influential band of all time. They are the best-selling band in history, have received numerous awards, and hold the most number one hits on the Hot 100 chart.

Marleybone-The Stray Cats

In the Game: Prospector Zeke urges you to find 10 Stray Cats throughout Marleybone!

The Band: The Stray Cats in the game refer to the band, "Stray Cats." The Stray Cats was a band formed in 1979 in Massapequa, New York. The group's members included Brian Setzer, the guitarist and vocalist, Lee Rocker, the double bassist, and Slim Jim Phantom, the drummer. The group had numerous hit singles and are considered very important to the history of Rock and Roll.

*Extra Easter Egg!-The quest that Prospector Zeke gives you is named, "Stray Cat Strut." One of the band's hit singles was named "Stray Cat Strut!"*

Mooshu-The Blue Oysters

In the Game: Prospector Zeke gives you a quest named, "Blue Oyster Cult," which tasks you to find 10 Blue Oysters scattered around Mooshu!

The Band: The quest, Blue Oyster Cult, actually refers to a band of the same name, "Blue Oyster Cult." Blue Oyster Cult was a heavy metal rock band that formed in Long Island, New York. The group got a lot of attention when their music videos were played in the premiere of MTV in 1981.

Dragonspyre-The Stone Roses

In the Game: Prospector Zeke asks you to locate 10 Stone Roses throughout Dragonspyre.

The Band: The Stone Roses refer to the band of the same name, "The Stone Roses." The Stone Roses was another band that formed in Manchester. In fact, the band has told that they were hugely influenced by "The Smiths." The Stone Roses's songs met critical acclaim and their debut album is considered one the best albums of all time. The group disbanded after poor reviews in 1994. However, the group reunited in 2011 and did a reunion tour in 2012.

Grizzleheim-The Yardbirds

In the Game: Prospector Zeke asks you to find 10 hidden Yardbirds throughout Grizzleheim.

The Band: The Yardbirds refer to the band of the same name, "The Yardbirds." The Yardbirds were popular in the mid-1960s and are credited with starting the careers of great guitarists such as Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page. The Yardbirds are widely known for their hand in electric guitar innovations. The group broke up in 1968, and Jimmy Page founded what became the popular band, "Led Zeppelin." The group reformed in the 1990s and were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1992.

Celestia-The Lounging Lizards

In the Game: You are asked by Prospector Zeke to find 10 Lounging Lizards throughout Celestia. (Lizards like to relax too!)

The Band: The Lounging Lizards actually refer to the band, "The Lounge Lizards." The jazz group was founded in 1978 and are known for their creative and distinctive sounds.

Wintertusk-The Troggs

In the Game: The Troggs are 6 little critters that Prospector Zeke tasks you to find throughout Wintertusk.

The Band: The Troggs refer to the band, "The Troggs" of the same name. The group formed in the 1960s and had a number of hits in both the US and UK. Three of the Trogg's songs, "Wild Thing," "With a Girl Like You," and "Love is All Around," have received gold disks for selling over one million copies.

Wysteria-The Wallflowers

In the Game: Prospector Zeke is in need of your help again!This time to retrieve 4 wallflowers throughout Wysteria!

The Band: The Wallfowers refer to the real band, "The Wallflowers!" The Wallflowers were originally known as "The Apples," but that name later was changed. The group formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1989. The Wallflowers have won two Grammy awards and their biggest hit is their song, "One Headlight."

Zafaria-The Monkeys

In the Game: Prospector Zeke is up to his usual antics and needs your help finding 7 Monkeys scattered throughout Zafaria.

The Band: The Monkeys are a reference to the real band, named "The Monkees." The Monkees were originally formed in 1965 in Los Angeles, California. Oddly enough, The Monkees were formed because a TV sitcom, called "The Monkees," that depicted the struggles and adventures of four young men trying to become famous rock stars. Although the TV show was cancelled in 1968, the group continued to make music afterwards. To this day, The Monkees have sold over 2 million records worldwide. However, the group has disbanded and reunited several times over the years.

*Extra Easter Egg!-The quest Prospector Zeke gives you is called, "Hey Hey It's The Monkeys," this quest name refers to the one hour comedy special named "Hey, Hey, It's the Monkees."*

Avalon-The Crows

In the Game: Prospector Zeke asks for your assistance in finding 9 Crows scattered throughout Avalon.

The Band: The Crows in the game refer to the real band named, "The Black Crowes." The Black Crowes formed in 1989, and have sold over 30 million albums. The Black Crowes have been on and off hiatus for years now.

*Extra Easter Egg!-The quest name "Crowology" that Zeke gives you, corresponds to the acoustic and most popular album by The Black Crowes, "Croweology."*

Azteca-The UFOs

In the Game: Zeke is in need of your help again! This time, he asks you to find 11 UFOs from all over Azteca.

The Band: The UFOs refer to the band, "UFO." UFO is a heavy metal and hard rock band that was formed in 1969. UFO was #84 on VH1's "100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock."

Khrysalis Part 1-The Khryckets

In the Game: You are tasked by Prospector Zeke to find 6 Khryckets hidden all over Khrysalis(Part 1).

The Band: The Khryckets refer to the band, "The Crickets." The Crickets was formed by Buddy Holly in the 1950s and started out in Lubbock, Texas. Their song, "That'll Be the Day," was their first major hit. The Crickets, with their guitar-bass-drums arrangement, set a template for later bands like "The Beatles."

*Extra Easter Egg!-The quest name "Oh Boy, Khryckets!," refers to a popular song performed by The Crickets called, "Oh, Boy!"*

Khrysalis Part 2-The Iron Butterflies

In the Game: Zeke is not through with you yet! This time he asks you to retrieve 5 Iron Butterflies scattered throughout Khrysalis(Part 2).

The Band: The Iron Butterflies refer to the band, "Iron Butterfly." Iron Butterfly was formed in San Diego, and is distinctively known for its dramatic sound that contributed to the creation of hard rock. Iron Butterfly was the first band to receive an RIAA platinum award and their best known song, "In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" has sold over 30 million copies.
