March 15th: Mystery Contest (More Information to be Announced)
March 22nd: Captain Pluton Nautical Farming Event @4pm EST
March 29th: Friar Sands Farming @4pm EST

We won’t say much on our big contest planned for later this month, but we will give you a little “teaser”, as it is teaser season for Pirate101, enjoy!

Use #AoSMarch15th to talk about it!

Have you ever wondered how KingsIsle came up with all the location names that are in Marleybone? I had always wondered the same but that changed three years ago.

I went on a big trip to London, England right after I finished questing through Marleybone.  Now are you wondering what London, England has to do with Marleybone?  It has to do with a lot of things.  While you probably already know that Marelybone is based off of modern Britain, there are plenty of specific references to real life places and structures that you might not be aware of.  For example: Hyde Park, Chelsea Court, Kensington Park, Newgate Prison, and more that will be shown below.

During my trip I was on a tour bus and walked around a lot with a tour guide.  The tour guide would tell everyone where we were and to a great surprise I would realize, "I know that name!"  Stop after stop, over and over again, I would hear the name of a place I recognized.  Not only was I not expecting it but was shocked to think that questing through Marleybone would help me with my trip.

KingsIsle based some locations in Marleybone from an area in London, England (a district in London called Marleybone); both incredibly remarkable and beautiful places.  Here are a few pictures of, both, the areas in Marleybone in game and the actual places in London, England.

Big Ben

Big Ben is a very well known and beautiful clock tower in London.

Barkingham Palace = Buckingham Palace

Buckingham Palace is one of the main workplaces for the British monarch.

Wolfminster Abbey = Westminster Abbey

Westminster Abbey is very big church in London.  It is one of the biggest churches and considered one of the best in the United Kingdom.  In fact, it was where Prince William married the lovely Catherine Middleton on April 29th, 2011 (a month after I travelled to London).

Scotland Yard

Scotland Yard is the headquarters of the Metropolitan Police Service.  In the 2000s, it was moved to a new and improved building.

Swashbucklers are one of the hardest hitting classes in the game, and, accompanied with their high dodge, they can be a strong class to play as well as a fearsome opponent in the arena. In the first part of this segment, we’ll be taking a closer look at the Swashbuckler class, what makes them excel, and strategies that can potentially help you improve on your playstyle.

Epic Abilities

As Swashbucklers have the second least amount of powers out of all the classes, they rely heavily on their Epic Abilities. Swashbucklers are a melee class, so, therefore, their Epic Abilities will activate against melee opponents.

As of Level 65 being the level cap, Swashbucklers can learn First Strike 3 and Riposte 2. While they don’t have as many Epic Abilities as some other classes, these two make melee enemies a much lesser threat in the fight. Whenever an enemy would attack, First Strike would activate. Due to the high dodge of Swashbucklers, Riposte has a high chance to be used as well - that’s two attacks on the enemy while the Swashbuckler would take no damage. And, due to the higher tiers of First Strike and Riposte, this combination is likely to activate more than once per round.

That being said, make the best use of these Epic Abilities if you can; if there is an enemy with Vengeance Strike in the fight, for example, attack them so that your First Strike will activate in response. Then, if you dodge their attack, Riposte will activate, allowing for three hits in one turn. If the enemy has Vengeance Strike 2, you’ll be able to attack even more. Of course, Vengeance Strike isn’t the only possible Epic Ability you can use to your advantage; Repel Boarders, Cheap Shot, Flanking, and more can all help activate your own Epic Abilities.

Using Epics from enemies to activate your own takes some practice, but it’s a key part of being a Swashbuckler. While you can succeed perfectly well by letting them activate on their own, strategically making them activate yourself will put you a step higher than many other Swashbucklers.

 Powers

Although they do not receive many powers, the majority of those that Swashbuckler receive are excellent in combat. The “hidden” Powers allows you to become invisible for a brief amount of time. While one of these Powers is active, you will be able to heal, buff, protect yourself or another unit in the fight, as well as anything else, as long as it’s not a hit. As soon as you do successfully attack an enemy, the hidden effect of the power will be removed, allowing enemies to see you once again.

From a PvP perspective, these Powers are still useful, though they have to be utilized a bit differently. The opponent will still be able to see you, though they cannot attack you normally. However, an AoE attack, such as Bonnie Anne’s Scatterblast, a Witchdoctor’s Mojo Storm, or a Privateer’s The Big Guns can remove the effect since it does not require actually selecting the hidden unit to attack. Therefore, instead of using a hidden Power right at the beginning of the fight, you may want to consider waiting until you know that the opponent is out of AoE attacks. Generally, the Privateer line of AoE attacks would be used up towards the beginning of the fight, so you should be able to use a hidden Power shortly after.

Although these Powers allow you to not be attacked by the opponent, an extra benefit of them is making an attack with it on deal double its normal damage. It could be used with simply a regular attack, but Swashbucklers also receive high-damage Powers that can lower an enemy’s health instantly. The last of these Powers, Assassin’s Strike, deals 3x your base damage - if you use a hidden Power first, or if it criticals (the rate of which occurring can be boosted by Grand Shadowdance, which raises your critical chance), it will do even more damage!

There are plenty of combinations with their Powers that Swashbuckler players have come up with, especially with Powers that can be found on rare boss gear. In order to fully maximize your potential as a Swashbuckler, you’ll want to gear up appropriately so you can have a wider range of Powers available to you.

Gear

For Swashbucklers, being able to protect yourself is crucial. With low health and vulnerability to enemy Powers, placing a Valor’s Fortress or Leviathan’s Call on yourself before attacking enemies is always a good idea. For this purpose, Friar Sand’s Gourd can provide Leviathan’s Call, while he also gives a Hat and a set of Boots with Valor’s Fortress. Keep in mind that one of each type of protection Power is plenty - having just one on can make PvP opponents think twice about attacking you right away, while two at the same time will likely make them avoid you altogether until the protection buffs run out.

As for what other Powers to look for, the choice is up to you. Friar Sand also gives a set of Boots with Great Juju, while Cadmus can give you an Assassin’s Strike Hat. The Monkey King Doppelgangers can provide you with an Assassin’s Strike Outfit, too.

Try to have one Leviathan’s Call, one Valor’s Fortress, one Great Juju, and some Assassin’s Strikes on your gear. If it fits your playstyle, Revive is a great heal that can be used instead of one extra Assassin’s Strike, which still gives you plenty of attack power but also a heal in case you need it.

Strategy

Regardless of whether you’re whether you’re in a PvE fight or PvP match, Swashbucklers have the potential to take out the strongest enemy first, and, in turn, eliminate the largest threat in the fight. In PvE, this would be a boss or a strong Musketeer or Witchdoctor enemy; in PvP, this is always the actual Pirate you are against.

First, if you have any on your gear, be sure to use your buffs - Great Juju, unlike the ones that are specific to a certain stat, will not buff all of your units when they are spread out across the battleboard. Be ready to protect yourself immediately, and then you can proceed to use critical buffs, specifically Grand Shadowdance. Without buffs, you’ll be at a great disadvantage; Swashbuckler is the only class that you cannot learn a Strength/Agility/Will buff from your own trainer.

Looking further into PvP, taking out the opposing Pirate immediately is essential. If you feel as if it will not be removed, use a hidden power followed by Assassin’s Strike, then continue to use your other attack Powers until they are finished off. If Bonnie’s (or another companion’s) heal is used, take the time to defeat them again. If they are left in the fight for too long, they can severely damage you or your companions; their Powers are unaffected by your high dodge, so they can hit you much easier than one of their companions could.

From that point, use your high dodge to your advantage. Try to avoid attacking melee enemies, as your Epic Abilities will be able to lower their health if they choose to attack you. Musketeers and Witchdoctors should be your next objective to defeat, as they, too, can hit you through your dodge. From there, finish off any melee enemies who are left in the fight.

Remember that you and your companions should all be focusing on the same unit if possible. Also, make note that this is just a general outline of what units you should be focusing on first; keep in mind that every match in different, but, if possible, you should try to aim for the Pirate → Musketeers/Witchdoctors → melee units.

Swashbucklers are a great class to play, and, if you don’t have one yet, it’s definitely worth trying out. If you’re used to the playstyle of a Musketeer, Witchdoctor, or Privateer, especially, and generally are not in the center of the fight, you’ll playing a Swashbuckler to be very different and new - give it a try and let us know what you think!

A new Pirate101 Bundle has found it's way into the Spiral, and it's an awesome one, centred around the Hoodoo Theme.

The Hoodoo Bundle Comes with 6 Unique Items;

5000 Crowns or 1 Month Membership (To either Wizard101 or Pirate101)

Conqueroo's Outifit and Mojo Monkey Companion

The new Outift is very cool looking, and comes with some awesome looking stats;

The Monkey Companion is pretty epic, too, it's more of a Melee based Companion, like Doctor Noh and comes with "Go Bananas!".

Witchdoctor's Lab Add On and Baron Samedi's Standard

The new Housing Item add on is absolutely 100% Awesomesauce, it looks very much like a Witchdoctor works here, and even has some strange writing, further adding to the effectiveness.

Now, the battle standard is an interesting one this time, it will heal  Undead Companions, such as Old Scratch and Bat Masterson , every  round.

Ghostly Galleon Ship!

This ship is just too epic to describe, it's fog is dyeable and comes with it's own set of gear, that is probably some of the best in the game!

Please note these Ship Stats are of the Tier 6 form of this ship

And the awesome looking Ship!

Have you seen the new Khrysalis wallpaper that was released by KingsIsle yesterday?  This wallpaper is giving us a sneak peak to many of the mobs, NPCs, and maybe mounts or pets that we will find in Khrysalis Part 2.

My favorite creature I see in this wallpaper is the one with the hood and the big staff.  He has a very unique look and makes me and many others curious on who he might be; maybe a boss near the end of Khrysalis part 2?

Another question that has been going around: Is this really the end of the Morganthe arc?  It's making many people wonder because, for example, in the Dragonspyre wallpaper, Malistaire was in the wallpaper because that's where you encounter him.  Will KingsIsle not end the Morganthe arc in Khrysalis?

If you would like to download the wallpaper for Khrysalis or any other world... Click HERE

If you have any other speculations or if you really like the look of one of these creatures, comment below, share your thoughts!

Hey Everyone!

Adventures of the Spiral just became official not too long ago (yay!) and with that comes some new installments! AoS’s staff kindly asked me to do a few derby posts to help get started and I’m so excited to be a part of it!

Derby is always looking for new people, but the best way to pave a racer’s success is through knowledge. The purpose of this series is to give everyone a basic understanding of derby and how it works!

I plan to do a three part series:
I. Introduction and basics (That’s this one!)
II. Training your pet
III.  Abilities!

So, let’s get right down to it, shall we? :)

Basics

Any player can race in the pet derby with a teen pet or higher. In the Pet Pavilion, you’ll notice 2 podiums, practice and ranked. Practice is a great way to well….practice! In practice, you can race others or even your friends with no impact on your rank. It also allows you to get a feel for all the courses so you can be ready for when it comes time to face the pros! Learning the courses and knowing what tracks suit your pet is a huge advantage!

Ranked racing will test your skills against other racers for a reward! Each ranked race has an impact on your derby rank. Coming in first will increase your rank by 10 points, second will increase your rank by 5 points. Coming in third or fourth will decrease your rank! Third place will lose 5 points, and fourth will lose 10 points! Oftentimes you will encounter less than 4 people in a race, in this case the points differ. For 3 people, first place increases by 10 points, second stays the same, and third loses 10 points. When there are two people, first place increases by 10 points, and second place decreases by 10 points.

Aside from rank, participating in derby also allows you to gain arena tickets which allow you to buy neat pets and items from various vendors.

Now that you are aware of the different types of derby, let’s venture into how exactly you will race.

What you will see:

1-This is your placement in the race. You’ll be in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, or 4th.

2-This is your running time while racing.

3-This shows you what lap you’re on. Each race has 2 laps, as you can see, Lady Oscar is on the final lap!

4-In the bar on the top of your screen, the green represents the morale you have left.

5-In the bar on the top of the screen, the yellow represents how much morale you would lose if you were to cheer at that exact time. (Green + Gold=How much total morale you have left)

6-This is where it will tell you what surface you’re on. Grass, Dirt, Clay, Water, Cobblestone and Mud are all the terrains on any given derby track. In this picture, you can see Lady Oscar is running on grass.

7-This is where the cost to cheer on the terrain you are on at a given moment is shown. Lady Oscar’s cheer on grass is 2, therefore, every time I cheer, 2 morale will be taken away.

8-This is your max power. (Determined by the Power stat)

9-This is a mini-map of the race. It shows where both you and your opponents are on the track. When the race starts, the person furthest to the right is lane 1, this person will be represented by a gold flag.  Lane 2 is represented by an orange flag, lane 3 is represented by a blue flag, and lane 4 is represented by a purple flag. (Blue and Purple not shown).

10-The abilities on the top of your screen are ordered in the way your pet received them. Farthest to the left is the ability you learned at teen, next over is adult, third is ancient, fourth is epic and fifth is mega. When you use an ability it will turn black and white and will be replaced with a cooldown time. When this time runs out, you can use that ability again.

11-Abilitiies you haven’t used or are ready to use are in full color and ready to go! You can use these abilities by clicking them with the mouse, although it’s more efficient to use the number keys on the keyboard. 1 corresponds to the teen ability, 2 to the adult, 3 to the ancient, 4 to the epic, and 5 to the mega.

12-My pet is only epic, therefore the fifth spot has no ability and it’s blacked out with the number  5.

13- Here you’ll see a hurdle. Hurdles are scattered all over the courses and when you jump or duck them successfully, they give you morale! Hurdles have red jump pads with exclamation points on them. These pads represent when you’re supposed to hit the spacebar to jump successfully.  Don’t waste your time trying to jump on the pads, just spam the spacebar when you’re close to one! But be careful, if you miss-time your jump and hit the hurdle, it slows you down!

14-Here you’ll see two things. First, you’ll see a star. There are 3 types of stars:
·         Yellow Stars-Give you immunity for 6 seconds and a speed boost for 4 seconds
·         Red Stars-Give you immunity for 6 seconds and a speed boost for 6 seconds
·         Blue Stars-Give you immunity for 6 seconds and a speed boost for 8 seconds

The second item you see is a wall. Walls and other obstacles that your opponent may drop slows you down! To avoid walls or obstacles, simply switch lanes.

15-Here you’ll notice buffs. Buffs, also called speed boosts, make you go faster! In the picture you can see Lady Oscar has one boost that will end in 13 seconds plus 5 more boosts, one of which will end in 6 seconds.

16-Your de-buffs are shown here. De-buffs slow you down! In this picture you can tell that Lady Oscar has 2 slows, one of which will end in 4 seconds.

17-This is where the abilities being used are shown. When shown, the game will list the racer’s name, the kind of pet they’re racing, and what ability they used.  Here you can see that Destiny D, the Onyx Shenlong Dragon in this race, used unbreakable.  I, Vanessa M, the Ianthine Spectre,  used big hurry. Looking here can help you keep track of your opponent’s abilities and be prepared for what’s coming!

Controls

Your pet will move forward regardless whether you push the up arrow or not. What the up arrow DOES do is allow you to cheer. Every time you push the up arrow, you will give your pet a speed boost for 15 seconds, also known as 1 cheer. The object of derby is complete 2 laps faster than your opponents, so as you can imagine…cheering a lot is a necessity!

The side arrow keys move your pet left and right, and the spacebar is the button you use to both jump and duck hurdles. CAUTION: Pushing the down arrow WILL slow you down, so be careful!

Racing Tips

Important things to know:

·         Cheer is everything! You want to cheer as often as you can! Cheer specifics will be gone over in the next post. But for now, just remember you want to do a lot of it!
·         Start off strong! Even before the buzzer sounds, spam the up arrow! You want to get a head start!

·         Stay on the surfaces where your cheer is low. Say you have 30 morale left. Your cost to cheer on water is 10, and your cost to cheer on grass is 2. On water, you would only be able to cheer 3 times compared to grass which you could cheer a whopping 15 times! Therefore, sticking to surfaces with low cheer costs not only saves you morale but also allows you to cheer more which makes you go faster!

·         Stay on the inside lane when possible. Unless the inside lane is a surface that has a terrible cheer cost for you, stay on the inside! Being on the inside lane can shed tons of seconds off your final time! Even more important though, is knowing the courses well (practice!!!) so you can immediately get to the side that has the next incoming inside lane.

·         Cobblestone is your friend! Cobblestone doesn’t have a stat, it always has a cheer cost of 2! Whenever you see a stretch of cobblestone, especially on teen or adult pets, go for it!
·         Mud is your worst enemy. Pets cannot cheer while running on mud and it even slows you down! Avoid mud at all costs!

·         Go for the hurdles! The only way to replenish your morale without a specific ability is to successfully clear hurdles. Spam the spacebar when in the vicinity of a hurdle so you get your precious morale back.

·         Stars! Stars! Stars! Stars give you not only a speed boost, but also immunity! When you’re getting attacked by countless saps, and mutes, immunity is the difference between winning and losing. So…go for the stars when you can!

This post was to meant to give everyone a very conceptual and basic understanding of derby. The posts coming up will be a little more advanced and go into more specifics about cheer and how you can maximize it!

Until then-Thanks for reading and Happy Racing! If you have any questions, feel free to ask! :)

The highlight of January was definitely the addition of Pirate101 codes into Dueling Diego, a game on KingsIsle’s Free Games site. It seems clear, however, that this game isn’t exactly easy; trying to defeat Roberto and save Francesca won’t be so simple without knowing some tips and tricks on how to succeed.

Wave 1

Diego starts out in the hold of his ship - as it turns out, it’s flooded with Gobblers and Bloodbats, which you’ll have to clear out before moving on.

Gobblers have 3 health, and the best way to defeat them is simply by walking up to them and quickly tapping any attack button (a, s, or d). Make sure you hit them immediately, because, if you stay too close to them, they’ll attack you first! They’re a fairly straightforward and basic enemy, and you’ll see them appearing quite a number of times - make sure you know how to take them on.

Bloodbats aren’t so fun to come across - they’ll always fly right up to you, so you’ll have to react quickly! They can appear either high, low, or in the middle, so make sure you use the corresponding attack so that you hit them. For example, if a Bloodbat comes towards the top, you’ll want to use a high attack (by pressing the a key). Be ready at all times for a Bloodbat to come, because they can slowly cause your health to fall if you aren’t prepared.

Finally, as a general tip, be aware of barrels! You will generally either find several single barrels or a single barrel followed by two barrels right next to each other. For both, you’ll have to jump over each set of barrels (by pressing the spacebar). Two barrels directly next to each other is likely the harder of these possibilities, as you’ll have to time your jump precisely right. When you’re very close to the barrels, jump and continue to move right - a precise jump is more likely to get you over the obstacles without taking damage.

A boss? Yes, there’s a boss! We’ll get more into the Gobbler Pirate later on, but he’s not too much of a threat.

Wave 2

You’ll likely find the waves getting progressively more difficult. In this one, the Gobblers are able to protect themselves and Fire Elves are added in - no Bloodbats in this one, though! However, you’ll still have to deal with those pesky barrels.

These Gobblers aren’t too different from the ones in the first wave, except they have shields which can block your attacks. Because of this, you will have to attack them where they’re shield currently isn’t - if their shield is held higher up, use a low hit. If it’s lower down, use a high hit. A middle hit works when the shield is high, although it’s best to just use up and down attacks (a and d keys) to remain consistent. Keep in mind, however, that the Gobblers change positions of their shields fairly often.

A helpful tip here is to look at where their shield is when you first see them appear. By the time you walk up to the Gobbler to hit him, he will almost always change the position of it. Therefore, it’s best to be ready to attack him where you see the shield - by the time you attack, it’ll likely be moved so you can land a hit. For example, in the picture above, the shield was held low when the Gobbler was first encountered. Being prepared to use a low hit would be a good idea here. After you land one hit, alternate between up and down so you can take into account the shield’s position being changed, and the Gobbler should go down pretty quickly.

Fire Elves aren’t too bad - they only have one health, so the hard part is just reaching them. They’ll shoot one or two arrows at you while you’re walking up to them, so just keep moving to the right and jump over the arrows as they appear. Be alert, and they should be simple!

And, of course, more barrels! Same procedure with these as in the first wave - timing is everything!

Once again, you’ll meet the Gobbler Pirate as a boss, which will be discussed further later on.

Wave 3

The third wave is a bit harder, mainly because you will encounter new types of enemies. Some of them aren’t too bad, but others can cause some difficulties.

Watch out for this guy! He will throw his spear at you consistently, just like a Fire Elf, except that he has more health and his spear is thrown a bit higher than a Fire Elf’s arrows. Just jump over them and keep moving close to him - when you finally reach him, attack him immediately before he can throw another spear.

What should happen at this point is that he will be pushed backwards. By the time he recovers, you should be able to walk up to him again and attack once more. Just repeat this process for a third time and you should be able to defeat him. The hardest part is making your way to him when he’s first encountered.

However, there is also a possibility that, when he is knocked back after you attack him, for him to immediately recover and throw another spear right away. Just be prepared to jump if he lifts his spear so that you can avoid the attack and strike back as soon as possible.

More Fire Elves! Follow the same procedure as in the second wave.

Another new type of enemy… snakes! They will rush towards you, like Bloodbats, but give you a moment to attack before they strike. As soon as one comes near you, use the down attack (the d key) to hit it first. This will push it backwards, but it will quickly run up to you again. Repeat this process two more times and they shouldn’t be too difficult to defeat.

The boss in this wave can be a bit difficult. More coverage on him in the “Bosses” section.

Wave 4

The best (and likely the hardest!) for last! Be sure to watch out for the stalactites falling from the ceiling. If you see one coming down when right when you walk under it, move backwards. Don’t take the risk of running through when you can be damaged. If you’re already almost past it, just keep on walking, and you should be able to dodge it when it falls.

More snakes! Follow the same procedure with them as in the third wave.

Yes, more Bloodbats - just be alert and they shouldn’t be too bad.

Here’s where the new enemies come in! The Ghouls are exactly like Snakes - they charge up to you immediately and will strike if you don’t react quickly. Hit them with any attack you choose, as long as you hit them fast. Keep in mind that they have four health, as opposed to the usually three. One extra hit will be enough to finish them off!

These Skeletons are really no different from the Spearmen in the third wave. Jump over the bombs they throw and hit them immediately. Usually you will just be able to walk right up to them after that and attack again before they can throw another one, though be aware that sometimes they will recover right away. Be ready to jump as needed!

And last but not least… Roberto! This final epic battle will be covered soon.

Bosses

The bosses in the first two waves are exactly the same - Gobbler Pirates with five health.

The best method for taking these guys on would be to run right up to them and continuously to attack over and over. Any type of attack will work, as long as you are, indeed, attacking. If you don’t, the Gobbler Pirate will notice an opening and strike. As you have more experience with this boss, you can use that to your advantage - wait on attacking and they will hit fairly quickly. Before they can, strike them first when they raise their sword.

And yes, that’s the only way to defeat them - wait for them to attack, where they will raise their sword, and then attack them first. The good part about continuously attacking him is that you won’t have to react quickly, as you will already be attacking him when he raises his sword. Every fifth hit will usually damage him, as that’s when he will raise his sword to strike. Keep attacking him over and over until he’s defeated.

This boss is very difficult. A good strategy against him is to wait until he throws his spear, then run up to him and attack. If you don’t wait, there’s a very good chance he will catch you unprepared and attack you first. As soon as you attack him once, back up, then repeat the same process. It will take a bit of practice, but, soon enough, this boss will definitely be much easier for you to take on.

You can also try a full-out offensive strategy on him. Charge towards him, and, when he raises him spear, jump and keep moving towards him. As soon as you’re right next to him, attack, then charge towards him again. There is likely a higher risk factor for this strategy, but it may be beneficial to try it out and see how well it works for you.

It is also worth noting that, at the end of the third wave when this boss is defeated, you can wait on entering the cave until some of your health regenerates. Be sure to keep this in mind!

And, finally, Roberto! Before you engage in the fight with him, look for the beginning of the path leading towards him. The stalactites will stop falling when you are at this point, so wait here to recover before walking up to Roberto. You should never start a fight with him with one health left - two is generally a safe bet, though having three is a safe precaution. When you’re ready, walk closer to the path to finally take on Roberto.

Yes, the picture is correct - Roberto does have one health! However, it won’t be too easy to land a hit on him. In fact, it’s impossible to strike him with your sword, so you will have to find another way to defeat him. Those falling stalactites are perfect for the job.

First, as soon as you walk up to him, do not attempt a defensive strategy. It just won’t work. Roberto is completely offensive, so you will have to counter that with an offensive strategy yourself. Try to change up your attacks, as well - starting with an up attack, then a couple middle ones, a low one, etc. will make it so that you can attack him easier. Striking him pushes him back, and you will want to keep him as far back as possible until you see a stalactite about to fall. As soon as you see it shake, start backing up slightly while still attacking Roberto. As soon as it begins to fall, run all the way backwards until you are right behind the falling stalactite. Roberto will run towards you to try to attack you, and, if you position yourself in the right area, he will be right under it when he falls. See the picture above as an example.

Fighting Roberto takes some practice, but you will be able to defeat him and save Francesca soon enough! After he is defeated, run towards Francesca immediately, as the stalactites will continue to fall.

After that, you will complete the fourth and final wave! You’ll be sent back to the first wave, but will keep your score. The more times you defeat Roberto in a single game, the higher your overall score will be, and the higher tier your reward will be!

As a side note, keep in mind that your health regenerates slower and slower as you progress through the game. Be sure you are especially careful as you come closer to those higher tiers!

This was my highest score in Dueling Diego (yes, it certainly took a while!). What about yours? Do you have any tips or tricks for the game? Let us know in the comments!

And, finally, be sure to try out Dueling Diego and have fun with it! It’s certainly worth your time if you are interested in winning some codes for Pirate101.

Here is a Tier 7 code to let you take a look at some of the cool prizes you can possibly win. Redeem it quickly before it’s used!
