This month is shaping up to be great, especially with that mystery contest we have planned for March 15th... what exactly will it be? More information will be revealed very soon!

To start our blogaversary month off, we'll be hosting a farming event on Saturday, March 8th at Friar Sand. Note that you do not have to have be able to access this area yourself, though it would be more helpful if you did. The more pirates in the fight, the higher the gold reward will be for everyone - lower level pirates are more than welcome to attend!

At 4:00 EST, we will meet in Avery's Court, realm One-Eyed Jack. Please add a pirate named Quick Lucas Newell, who will teleport everyone to entrance to Friar Sand's instance. Pickups will last approximately 10-15 minutes, so make sure you are there on time!

If you are a lower level and cannot enter the area by yourself, please find a higher level pirate who will be willing to take you inside. Remember, the more pirates the group the better... more gold to plunder!

On March 22nd, we'll be switching it up and hosting a Nautical Farming Event at Captain Pluton. Whether you're just looking for rare ship parts or if you need to raise your nautical level, be sure to come so that you're all ready for broadside ship combat for when the next major update is released! This event will also be held at 4:00 EST. Meet us in Avery's Court, realm One-Eyed Jack for pickups... and, of course, this event is open to all levels!

We'll also be closing off the month with a second Friar Sand farming event on March 29th at 4:00 EST, where we will be meeting in the same place and realm. So feel free to spend all the gold you receive from the event, because you'll be able to win plenty more shortly after!

Also, we have some extra codes for rare items that you may be interested in... we'll be giving a couple out at each farming event, so be sure to attend!

Here's this month schedule to recap:

March 8th: Friar Sand Farming Event @ 4pm EST
March 15th: Mystery Contest (Keep an eye out for more information!)
March 22nd: Captain Pluton Nautical Farming Event @4pm EST
March 29th: Friar Sand Farming Event @ 4pm EST

We hope to see you all there!!

Some of you may know, that last March is when we started what was back then, "Adventures of the Wizard" over on wordpress. We’ve come a long way since then; we changed the blog name to “Adventures of the Spiral”, released the Companion Database back in September, and not so long ago, we were delightfully accepted as an Official Fansite for Pirate101!

However, we would not be where we are right now if it wasn’t for you guys, our readers. So, to celebrate, we would like to dedicate this month to you!

Throughout this month we will be having Farming Events and a contest, which we believe, you will all be very excited for, but the details will not be shared with you yet!

Here’s a schedule of events, more news and info will be coming during the first week of March regarding the Farming Events. The nature of the Mystery Contest will be revealed before March 15th, so do keep an eye out for that!

March 8th: Friar Sands Farming @ 4pm EST
March 15th: Mystery Contest (More Information to be Announced)
March 22nd: Captain Pluton Nautical Farming Event @4pm EST
March 29th: Friar Sands Farming @4pm EST

We won’t say much on our big contest planned for later this month, but we will give you a little “teaser”, as it is teaser season for Pirate101, enjoy!

Use #AoSMarch15th to talk about it!

Yesterday afternoon,  we received an email from One-Eyed Jack, our community manager, with some very exciting news: we've been accepted as an official Pirate101 fansite (!!) - the team here was absolutely thrilled to hear this, and we're very glad that we can now be a larger part of the community.

Of course, we certainly won’t be slowing down now! We’ll be rolling out some new segments over the next few weeks that we hope you’ll all enjoy (P101 and W101!). Also, be sure to keep an eye on our official Twitter page for some periodic contests the next couple of days. We’ll be hosting some contests and events on our blog, too, so be sure to check back often - you never know what’s in store! (even we don’t!)

We’re hoping for this to be a great year for Pirate101… Yum all around!

We also received some extra Commentary from Blind Mew:

"Blind Mew here - as I said over at Central, your work is pretty staggering and I absolutely love it! But there's one thing on the second article that you’ve missed, and it’s pretty important: the Spiral Map in Marleybone has no world in the center: this tells you right off the bat there’s no such thing as an absolute chart, at least not yet. Why is the map this way? Marleybonean pride prevents them from giving another world a better position than they have, but they are reasonable enough to admit that other worlds are really important: manners preclude them taking the center spot for themselves.

So, rather than Valencia at center, it and Marleybone share “most important” status with two other worlds, arranged in the cross pattern there in the middle. Nobody has seen the Spiral from outside, so as long as the connections line up, who’s to say their map is incorrect? Who are the other two worlds? That would be telling.

Another thing you should consider – when mapping out the Spiral (at least our version, with thread connections and what not), I was driven by story considerations more than symmetry. So presumptions of what connections are likely or unlikely based on numbers of hops are dangerous – I’d be much more likely to connect a world like Marleybone to other worlds that resonate with the British colonial presence. I’m also leaving room for lines that connect two worlds across the gaps between the arms if need be.

Oh, and the gate closest to Beachhead in MB does indeed go to Valencia – it’s the front line in the war, and the Armada’s primary invasion vector. That’s what makes Rooke’s assault from MooShu at the other end of the Skyway such a big deal – it’s a major flanking maneuver."

Interesting, eh?!

Wizard101's newest update brings the new world of Khrysalis, available to players that have completed Azteca, Level 90+ and have completed the quest "Speaker for the Dead". Part One of this world has just hit the Live Realm, and Part Two is expected early next year.

After the PC's failure in Azteca, Morganthe has retreated to Khrysalis, the core of the Shadow Web to plan the destruction of the entire spiral. The Council of Light sends you off into the heart of the Shadow to help troubled civilians, weaken the Umbra Legion, and, most importantly, stop Morganthe once and for all.

Khrysalis brings a new level cap, Level 95, and an exciting world for players to adventure through. Additionally, there are more than a few smaller updates that players have frequently requested and are sure to enjoy.

In addition to the new world, each school gets an 8 Pip spell from the first quest of the new storyline:

The forbidden magic Morganthe has sought is known as Shadow Magic, which a resident of Khrysalis will teach to you! Thus far, there are 3 available spells, and each school will train one for free. They are very powerful, and can result in Backlash damage if the caster is unprepared... are you up for the challenge?
.

Housing/Castle Tours

A new feature has arrived for housing; Castle Tours. Castle Tours allows you to place your houses (in categories) to Myrella Windspar's database for all the wizards in the spiral to view and Rate! Once your house is rated, you can view it on the leaderboard (Top 100). So what are you waiting for? Get Touring!

That's not the only update to Housing, when you visit someone elses house during a castle tour you can use the Housing Item Identifier, which allows you to view what a specific item is!

For the PvP community, new types of Tournaments are available! Instead of just the traditional, standard match, you can now choose between types of Tournaments with special circumstances.

Classic Tournaments:
No pets
No treasure cards
No amulets of any kind

Quick Match:
10 minute match
Increased damage each round

School Perk Tournaments:
Increased armor piercing
Bonus to spells of a certain school.

Gardening

As with every new update, KI have increased the Gardening Level to Rank 16 and given us some new spells. To access these spells, you will need to speak to Zaltanna the MirrorMask after completing the quest "Uneasy Allies" in the Last Wood.

Quest Finder

Wonder what quest you should do next?  If you click Quest Finder (last page in your quest journal), your quest arrow will point you to the nearest available quest!  It locates the nearest quest by the world you are in.  If the world you are in does not have any available quests, you'll have to move to another one.

Quest Finder is off by default so you will manually have to go to your Options Panel and turn it on.

Also, check out the new Bee Dance Emote!
